Oh yes, yes it is.
Sterling Rover 827SLi. Spotted in a friend’s very wealthy neighborhood, and it was an unusual sighting in an area filled with leased Infiniti’s. All I know is that I need one, even if it’s the worst Acura Legend ever made.

There’s one of these in Fort Myers that I always got super excited to see. Always pulled into the other lane in case it didn’t go when the light turned green, but was still happy to see it.

I saw one of those once, but it was in a junkyard.

Haha, these are quite common over here and are usually ignored or ridiculed by most people.
I like them myself, it's interesting how rarity can change people’s views on a car though.

There used to be one not far from me. It was red and usually under a car cover. I should go check to see if it's still there.

Where are you that Sterling’s are still a vehicle that people drive?

I saw one this morning and it was outside of a house worth more than most life insurance policies.

It’s got a Honda engine that works perfectly, it’s just the rest of it that doesn’t work.

I ran into this one about 6 months ago. It was probably the first Sterling I had seen this millennium. Kudos to these folks for keeping the dream of English built Japanese luxury alive.

UK. Here they don’t have the Sterling name though, so they’re just called Rover 800s.

It rides on the same platform of the Acura Legend and had the same 2.5 V6.

They only got them with the Honda 2.5 V6 for the US and Canada.

That’s amazing, but the one I saw was a Fastback which means I get one more point than you. It’s the rule.

Europe also got the Honda 2.5 as well, but only until 1988.

The 827 you found must’ve been extra rare though, it’s a 2.7.

I just rode by it. It’s covered, but it’s on GMSV. Also I misremembered the color. It’s apparently white.

Yeah, not a lot were made. I’d like to have one of these one day.

Yeah, lots of random combinations like that around here. My town is turning into a haven for surviving 80s cars. I should do a project on it.

The fastback is totally way cooler. I actually dig it. But, I can only photograph the Sterlings fate delivers to me.

Absolutely, and you’ve got the Preludes so you’re contributing to that, which is a good thing. There’s someone near me who has 12 W123 Mercedes.

Nice, the 800 is a cool car and would be interesting to own.
Or you could get a 1st gen 2.7L Honda Legend instead. It's more common and reliable but doesn’t have the full Rover experience..

At least six of them are parts cars. I met him at a gas station on Friday, and he said that four of them are parts cars exclusively. So he has eight drivers???

Obligatory failed clear coat and yellowed headlights - but, at least it still has the corner turn signal lenses. Those were usually the first pieces to fall off.

I highly doubt that they’re original.

I think there are one or two W123s. There's an old Merc diesel wagon, a 1st gen Tercel, a Shelby Caravan, and a garage-kept Rampage, for starters.

This is a dream garage for someone like me. There’s an 81 280ZX for sale down the road from me that is so clean, and they only want $3,750 for it. Only downside is that it is an auto, but it is allegedly easy to convert those to manuals.

That’s a good price. There’s one guy near me who has an FC RX-7 convertible, an 80s Hilux, a MK3 Supra, a mid-90s Maxima, and something else in his backyard that’s been covered for years, but I want to say it’s a 280ZX.
Part of me also wants to do a photo series of cars here captioned with RCR-style judgmental comments. Like a picture of an SUV/CUV with a Salt Life sticker captioned with “I haven’t been to the ocean since 2011", a house with multiple clapped out Civics in the yard with "I have a shrine to Paul Walker in my back room", etc. I could see that getting old quickly, though.

I want to become friends with that person. But I could see that pseudo RCR idea being funny.

Thanks. The idea came the other day, when I saw a repair shop that was closed for the 4th, with the only car in the parking lot being an FD RX-7. "Oh, an FD in its natural habitat," I thought. The picture I took didn't turn out, but I'll go by there later today to see if it's still sitting there.
